Setting Up a Home Computer Network

Can one of your computers at home talk to another in a different room? The type of technology that was once restricted to the workplace can now be extended to your private residence. With a home network system, you may be able to meet the following objectives:

*Have all the computers in the home share an Internet connection;

*Have multiple computers share the same printer;

*Access shared files, including photographs and spreadsheets from any computer in the home;

*Send output from a DVD player or Webcam to any computer; and

*Access the same game from multiple computers.

Although everyone's needs may vary, a wireless system may be the least expensive and easiest type of system to implement. Before you know it, your computers will be “talking” to one another without interruption.
